[FUNDED] Bootstrap: Reducing the harmful effects of digitalisation on mental health in youth

Led by Prof. Naomi Fineberg from the University of Hertfordshire, an international and multidisciplinary consortium acquired funding to develop tools to reduce the harmful effects of digitalisation on young people’s mental health. At the level of the individual, the project aims to promote self-management of healthy internet behaviour. At the level of policy makers and private companies, the project will focus on improved regulation and protection of vulnerable groups. Fundament supported the consortium throughout the process of idea generation, developing a project outline for the first stage application, and co-writing the successful full proposal.

[FUNDED] YoPAAPE: Co-creation of activating environments with youth

An international consortium led by Prof. Mai Chin A Paw from Amsterdam UMC received funding to tailor, implement, and evaluate environmental interventions to improve the lifestyle of teenagers in vulnerable life situations. YoPAAPE will use a teen-centred co-creation approach to ensure activating interventions are designed that meet the needs and preferences of teenagers and their local communities. Fundament supported the consortium in drafting a convincing and attractive proposal with an elaborate strategy to achieving real-world impact.

[FUNDED] U-RISE: Improving wellbeing of Ukraine’s displaced people

An international consortium led by Dr. Els van der Ven and Prof. Marit Sijbrandij from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam acquired funding to implement scalable, evidence-based mental health interventions adapted to the needs of war refugees affected by the war in Ukraine. The project will be coordinated from the Netherlands, but includes partnership with various partners in the EU including three local NGOs in Romania, Poland, and Slovakia ensuring available on-the-ground implementation. Fundament supported the consortium in drafting a convincing proposal in the short timeframe between call opening and deadline, taking into account the many specific call rules and regulations.

[FUNDED] LABDA: Learning network for Advanced Behavioural Data Analysis

The Marie Curie Doctoral Network project ‘LABDA’ will kick off February 2023. Led by Prof. Mai Chin A Paw from Amsterdam UMC, the project aims to enhance development and application of innovative methodology to analyse 24/7 movement behaviour. For this, 13 PhD students will perform research and receive training in an interdisciplinary and intersectoral network. Fundament supported the consortium in drafting a convincing and attractive proposal. As part of the project, Fundament will also provide a tailored grant writing workshop to the recruited PhD students.

[FUNDED] CIRCULAR: Co-creation and animal-free solutions for atrial fibrillation

A multidisciplinary and multisectoral consortium led by Prof. Bianca Brundel (Amsterdam UMC) acquired funding to study the mechanisms that drive atrial fibrillation, the most common form of cardiac arrhythmia. CIRCULAR was funded by the competitive Dutch NWA-ORC programme. Fundament supported the consortium in all steps of the process, from drafting a convincing pre-proposal and full proposal to writing the rebuttal to reviewers’ comments and preparing for the interview.

[FUNDED] OptiVisT: Training the next generation of translational vision scientists

The Horizon 2020 Marie Curie ITN project OptiVisT has started! Led by Prof. Frans Cornelissen from UMCG, this research and training network brings together 26 consortium members from academia, healthcare, and industry. The consortium’s joint mission is to enhance the societal participation of visually impaired individuals. Fundament is proud to contribute to this project as a partner organisation, providing tailored grant writing training to the 15 early-stage researchers working in this project.

[FUNDED] RESPOND: studying mental health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic

Under the leadership of Dr. Marit Sijbrandij from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, an international consortium acquired funding to study the effects of the pandemic and associated containment measures on mental health and wellbeing, in particular of vulnerable groups. RESPOND is the single funded project coordinated by a Dutch coordinator in this competitive Horizon2020 coronavirus-2 call. Fundament supported the consortium in drafting a convincing full proposal in the very short timeframe between call opening and deadline.
